Indianhead is on the shore of the beautiful spring fed, 36 acre Savory Pond which is peaceful and ready to explore! It is rich with wildlife, beautiful aquatic plants, interesting birds, and many turtles, frogs and fish. In fact, if fishing is your game, there is plenty of shore side sunfish to keep the little ones busy or you can rent a canoe or rowboat($10/hr) and try your luck catching the bass and the pickerel that make this pond their home. Enter the Kids Fishing Derby, 8:00 a.m.-noon, every Saturday– free!

Known for its carefully maintained Sandy Beach, the swimming area of Savory Pond is great for picnics, sand castles, sun-bathing and of course swimming! To ensure the water quality for swimming, our pond is tested weekly.
Bike Away the Day!
While the roads of Indianhead are hilly and great for mountain bikes, less advance riders will find the basketball court a great place to pedal a trike or to try removing those training wheels. If your family is adventuring into biking, the Cape Cod Canal Bikeway is a favorite biking destination and it is only 4 miles away! If you are looking for another great bike trail for the whole family, you could move a little further down the cape for the day, and try the Cape Cod Rail Trail which could bring you all the way to Province Town on a safe, paved bike route.
Hike to the State Park and the Ocean Beach!
If you should find yourself craving some salt between your toes, across the street from Indianhead, just a short walk away, you will find Ellisville Harbor State Park. This park is a great place for dog walking. It provides a nice gravel walkway, with many spectacular vistas out over the marsh out to the ocean– with benches and even picnic table for you to enjoy. Follow the trail to the end and you will find the ocean and a white sand beach waiting for you to let the waves lap away your stress and let you soak up some sun!

Just want to toss down a beach chair, and skip the hike? There are many, many public beaches only minutes away by car.
Swing on the Playground!
And after that sun start to lower in the horizon, you may find your way back to Indianhead and perhaps while dinner is being prepared, the kids will enjoy the two classic playgrounds with slides, climbers, seesaws and super swings—ready to help the children shoot their toes skyward and let themselves soar!

So, if basketball, volleyball, or horseshoes is more your game, you will find a full-size courts and the equipment here ready for you to play.

If camp cooking isn’t your thing– no problem! Your biggest challenge at Indianhead may very well be trying to decide which restaurant you want to dine at– Plymouth boasts eateries of every imaginable cuisine. You could stay for a season and never try them all!!
Gaze at the Stars
In addition to the many campsites nestled in the woods, the campground has great hillside views of the horizon which provide spectacular views into the night sky. Let your children discover that “stars” are not just actors in movies!
